Building GMLYFT One Update at a Time

GMLYFT continues to evolve with one goal in mind: making training easier to track and more efficient to execute.

One of the things I enjoy most about building GMLYFT is that it is never really finished. Every time I train, use the app, or hear feedback from other lifters, I find opportunities to make it better. The goal has always been simple. Create a tool that adds value, removes friction, and helps people focus on their training.

As someone who trains consistently, I know how frustrating it can be when fitness apps feel disconnected from how people actually work out. Features get added because they sound good in a marketing description, not because they solve a real problem. With GMLYFT, every update starts with a simple question: does this make training easier, faster, or more useful?

Some of our recent updates are good examples of that mindset. The weekly training planner was redesigned to make it easier to plan your week, track progress, and set reminders that match your schedule. We also rebuilt the Getting Started experience so new users can quickly understand how the app works and discover resources available to them.

During workouts, small details matter. That is why we added the ability to undo completed sets if you accidentally tap the wrong one. We also improved exercise selection by prioritizing exercises you have used before and made cardio setup quicker with better time entry controls.

Another feature I use regularly is the ability to adjust rest timers while a workout is already in progress. Sometimes you realize a movement needs a little more recovery time, or maybe less. Instead of ending the session and making changes elsewhere, you can update the timer right there and even apply it across all exercises in the workout.

The common theme behind all of these updates is simple. Less time managing the app. More time training. GMLYFT will continue to evolve, and there is plenty more planned. Every release is another step toward making it the kind of training tool I always wanted to use myself.

Train with structure. Track your progress with GMLYFT.
