Cable Decline EZ Bar Triceps Extension
The Cable Decline EZ-Bar Triceps Extension uses a high pulley and forward-angled pressing path. The triceps straighten the elbows while the forearms maintain the EZ-bar grip. The exercise is usually performed facing away from the cable with the upper arms near the head.
Training context
What is the decline cable extension?
The high cable pulls backward and upward while the arms extend forward or downward. This creates a different line of resistance from a standard pushdown.
The torso lean and pulley height should remain fixed once the set begins. A load that is too heavy often causes the elbows to flare or shoulders to take over.
Technique overview
Keep the upper arms near the head
Face away from the high cable and hold the EZ-bar with your elbows bent. Maintain your torso angle as you straighten the elbows along the cable path. Pause at extension, then return slowly without allowing the bar to pull the upper arms backward. Keep the wrists aligned with the angled grip.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
