Cable EZ-Bar Curl

The Cable EZ-Bar Curl trains the biceps with an angled bar attached to a low pulley. The cable provides resistance throughout the repetition, while the forearms stabilize the grip. The EZ-bar angles may feel more comfortable at the wrists than a straight attachment.

Training context

What is the Cable EZ-Bar Curl?

The movement follows a standard standing curl, but the cable continues pulling toward the low pulley at the bottom and top. Distance from the machine changes the starting cable angle.

Choose the grip position that allows the wrists and elbows to move comfortably. There is no need to force the hands into a specific bend on the attachment.

Technique overview

Curl without leaning backward

Stand facing the low pulley with the bar held in an underhand grip. Keep the elbows near your sides and curl until the forearms approach vertical or your controlled top position. Lower slowly until the arms extend. Avoid rocking the torso or allowing the cable to pull the shoulders forward.

Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
