Car Deadlift
The Car Deadlift is a strongman event performed with a lever-style frame loaded by a vehicle or other heavy objects. Most versions use neutral handles beside the body, although some use a straight bar. The quadriceps, glutes, hamstrings, back, traps, forearms, and grip all contribute.
Training context
Keeping the Car Deadlift controlled
Car deadlift frames vary considerably. Handle height, frame length, pivot position, and load placement can make two apparatuses feel completely different even when the displayed weight is similar.
Foot position can be adjusted slightly to favor more knee or hip movement, but the lifter should remain centered enough that both handles rise together.
Technique overview
Set your position before moving the frame
Stand evenly between the handles, secure your grip, and brace before lowering the hips into the start. Drive through the floor while keeping the chest and frame balanced. Finish by extending the hips and knees without leaning excessively backward. Guide the apparatus down under control and fully reset before the next repetition.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
