Close-Grip EZ-Bar Curl with Band
The Close-Grip EZ-Bar Curl with Band combines an EZ-bar curl with elastic resistance. The biceps bend the elbows while the forearms maintain the narrow angled grip. Band tension increases as the bar rises, making the upper portion of the curl progressively harder.
Training context
Setup cues for the Banded EZ-Bar Curl
The bands must be attached evenly to both sides of the bar and anchored beneath the foot or feet without twisting. Unequal band length can pull the bar off-center.
Inspect the bands and attachment points before each set. The bar should remain balanced even when the elastic tension is highest.
Technique overview
Keep both band sides equally tensioned
Stand securely on the center of the band and hold the inner EZ-bar grips. Curl without allowing the elbows to travel forward or one side of the bar to rise first. Pause briefly, then lower slowly against the increasing pull of the bands. Stop if a band begins slipping or shifting beneath the feet.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
