Elevated Cable Rows
Elevated Cable Rows are seated cable rows performed from a raised seat position. The lats provide the main pull while the middle back and traps assist. Elevating the body changes the relationship between the torso and the low pulley.
Training context
Why elevate the seated row position?
A raised seat can change the cable angle and handle path for lifters who want the attachment to approach the abdomen from a slightly lower position.
The source setup places a separate platform on the machine seat. That platform must be completely secure and intended to support bodyweight. Do not use loose steps that can slide, tilt, or damage the seat.
Technique overview
Secure the raised seat before pulling
Confirm that the platform cannot move and that the feet remain securely braced. Begin with the arms extended and torso upright. Pull the handle toward the abdomen without rocking backward, then return slowly until the lats lengthen. Stop if the seat support shifts at any point.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
