EZ-Bar Curl

The EZ-Bar Curl is a standing biceps exercise performed with the hands placed on the angled sections of an EZ curl bar. The shaped bar places the wrists between a fully underhand and neutral position, which some lifters find more comfortable than a straight bar.

Training context

Why Use an EZ-Bar Curl?

The angled grip can reduce the amount of wrist rotation required while still allowing both arms to curl one bar together. It is a practical option for direct biceps work after larger pulling exercises.

The wide and narrow handles create slightly different hand positions. Use the grip that allows the wrists and elbows to remain comfortable.

Technique overview

Keep the upper arms controlled

Stand tall with the elbows close to the torso and the bar held securely. Curl by bending the elbows without leaning backward or driving them forward. Pause near the highest controlled position, then lower until the arms are comfortably extended. Stop before momentum replaces the biceps effort.

Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
