Full Range-Of-Motion Lat Pulldown
The Full Range-of-Motion Lat Pulldown uses two high cable handles held with the arms crossed at the top. As the handles travel downward, the hands uncross and rotate toward a neutral grip. The lats provide the main pull while the biceps, middle back, and shoulders assist.
Training context
Setup Cues for the Full-Range Pulldown
Both pulleys should be set evenly, and the bench or standing position must remain centered between them. The crossed cables should move freely without rubbing against the arms or head.
This variation uses a more complex path than a standard pulldown. Begin with a light load until the crossing, pulling, and hand rotation feel coordinated.
Technique overview
Let the handles follow a natural arc
Begin with the arms extended and opposite hands holding the high handles. Pull downward and outward while allowing the hands to uncross and rotate toward each other. Keep the chest lifted without leaning excessively backward. Return slowly through the same arcing path until the arms are extended again.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
