Incline Dumbbell Curl
The Incline Dumbbell Curl is performed with the back supported and the arms hanging beside or slightly behind the torso. The biceps curl the dumbbells from this lengthened upper-arm position while the bench limits body movement.
Training context
Who May Find Incline Curls Useful?
The exercise may suit lifters who want a strict dumbbell curl that makes torso momentum difficult. It can follow larger pulling movements or be included in direct arm training.
Bench angle affects the starting shoulder position. Use an incline that allows the arms to hang comfortably without pulling the shoulders forward.
Technique overview
Leave the upper arms beside the torso
Sit fully against the incline bench with the dumbbells hanging and palms forward. Curl by bending the elbows without moving them toward the front of the body. Pause near the highest controlled position, then lower until the arms return to a comfortable extension. Keep the shoulders against the bench.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
