Exercise guide
Kneeling High Pulley Row
The Kneeling High Pulley Row uses a rope attached above the head. The lats and middle back pull the rope toward the upper chest while the biceps bend the elbows. Kneeling removes some lower-body assistance and changes the angle of the pull.
Training context
Using the Kneeling High Pulley Row
The exercise can fit as focused back work when a high cable angle is desired. Elbows traveling outward emphasize a different path from a close-elbow pulldown.
Kneel far enough from the tower to keep tension while still allowing the arms to extend. The torso should not lean backward to finish the pull.
Technique overview
Pull the rope toward the upper chest
Begin kneeling with the arms extended toward the high pulley. Retract the shoulder blades and pull the rope toward the upper chest while the elbows move outward. Pause briefly, then allow the arms to extend slowly. Keep the hips and torso in the same position throughout.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
