Exercise guide
Lying Cable Curl
The Lying Cable Curl is performed on the floor in front of a low pulley. The cable pulls horizontally while the biceps bend the elbows and the floor supports the torso.
Training context
Before Adding Lying Cable Curls
The feet may brace lightly against the machine frame, but they should not push hard enough to slide the body across the floor. Confirm that the mat and cable path are clear.
A straight bar and EZ-style attachment may feel different at the wrists. Use the option that permits a comfortable underhand grip.
Technique overview
Keep the elbows beside the torso
Lie facing the low pulley with the arms extended and elbows near the sides. Curl the attachment toward the chest without lifting the upper arms. Pause briefly, then extend the elbows slowly while maintaining cable tension.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
