Exercise guide

Machine Bicep Curl

The Machine Bicep Curl isolates elbow flexion with the upper arms supported against a pad. The fixed setup limits body movement and allows the biceps to work through a repeatable path.

Training context

Keeping Machine Bicep Curls Controlled

Adjust the seat so the elbows align closely with the machine pivot and the upper arms rest fully on the support. The handles should be reachable without lifting the shoulders or sliding forward.

Avoid forcing the elbows into complete extension if the machine places them in an uncomfortable position. Use a range that keeps the joints and pads aligned.

Technique overview

Keep the upper arms against the pad

Sit securely with the upper arms supported and hands on the handles. Curl by bending the elbows without lifting from the pad. Pause briefly at the top, then lower slowly until the arms reach a comfortable extension without letting the stack slam.

Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
