Exercise guide
Machine Preacher Curls
The Machine Preacher Curl supports the upper arms on an angled pad while the biceps bend the elbows. The machine creates a consistent path and limits help from the torso.
Training context
Before Adding Machine Preacher Curls
Adjust the seat so the armpits sit near the top of the pad and the elbows align comfortably with the machine pivot. The upper arms should remain supported without the shoulders being forced forward.
Do not force the elbows into a hard lockout at the bottom. Stop at a comfortable extension while maintaining control of the resistance.
Technique overview
Keep the upper arms planted on the pad
Begin with the upper arms fully supported and hands in a secure underhand grip. Curl the handles without lifting the elbows or shoulders. Pause briefly, then lower until the arms reach a controlled extension without allowing the weight to drop.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
