Exercise guide
Machine Triceps Extension
The Machine Triceps Extension isolates elbow extension with the upper arms supported against pads. The fixed position limits torso movement and keeps the exercise focused on the triceps.
Training context
Keeping Machine Triceps Extensions Controlled
Adjust the seat so the elbows align closely with the machine pivot and the upper arms rest securely on the pads. The handles should be reachable without lifting the shoulders.
Avoid forcing the elbows past a comfortable extension or letting the weight stack pull the arms back suddenly.
Technique overview
Straighten the elbows without lifting from the pads
Begin with the upper arms supported and elbows bent. Press the handles away by extending the elbows while the shoulders remain relaxed. Pause briefly, then return slowly until the elbows reach the selected starting angle.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
