Narrow Stance Leg Press

The Narrow Stance Leg Press uses a closer foot position to emphasize a knee-dominant pressing pattern. The quadriceps provide the main effort, with the glutes, hamstrings, and calves assisting.

Training context

Understanding the Narrow-Stance Leg Press

The feet do not need to remain exactly three inches apart. Use a stance narrow enough to match the intended variation but wide enough for the knees, hips, and feet to move comfortably.

Lower only while the heels stay planted and the pelvis remains supported against the seat. A universal 90-degree stopping point is not required.

Technique overview

Let the knees follow the toes

Place the feet securely on the platform in a comfortable narrow stance. Release the safeties and lower the sled while the knees track in line with the toes. Press through the full feet to extend the legs without snapping the knees backward, then secure the safeties after the set.

Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
