Reverse Barbell Curl
The Reverse Barbell Curl uses a pronated grip to bend the elbows. The biceps assist, but the brachialis, brachioradialis, and forearm muscles often receive substantial emphasis.
Training context
Who May Find Reverse Barbell Curls Useful?
The exercise may suit lifters seeking direct elbow-flexor and forearm work. The straight bar fixes both hands in the same position, which may not feel comfortable for every wrist.
An EZ-bar can provide a more natural grip angle. Use a load that does not require the wrists to bend backward or the torso to swing.
Technique overview
Keep the wrists aligned with the forearms
Stand with a shoulder-width palms-down grip and the elbows near the torso. Curl the bar by bending the elbows while keeping the wrists firm and upper arms still. Stop before the shoulders roll forward, then lower slowly to the starting position.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
