Rickshaw Deadlift
The Rickshaw Deadlift raises a strongman frame while the athlete stands between its handles. The quadriceps, glutes, hamstrings, back, traps, and grip work together to move the frame to standing.
Training context
Keeping the Rickshaw Deadlift Controlled
The centered handles often create a more upright pull than a barbell deadlift, but the exact position depends on the frame. The implement must be loaded evenly so one side does not rise first.
A controlled return matters because the frame may rebound or shift when it contacts the ground. Use a level area with enough clearance around the feet.
Technique overview
Drive evenly through both handles
Stand centered inside the frame and grip both handles firmly. Brace, bend the hips and knees, and push through the floor until the hips and knees extend. Stand tall without leaning backward, then guide both sides of the frame to the ground at the same time.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
