Exercise guide
Seated Dumbbell Curl
The Seated Dumbbell Curl begins with a neutral grip and gradually rotates the palms upward as the elbows bend. The biceps produce the curl while the bench reduces lower-body momentum.
Training context
Keeping Seated Dumbbell Curls Controlled
The wrist rotation should happen gradually and remain comfortable. It should not be forced farther than the forearm naturally allows.
Sitting does not prevent shoulder movement automatically. Keep the upper arms near the torso and stop the curl before the elbows travel forward.
Technique overview
Rotate as the dumbbells rise
Sit upright with the dumbbells beside the thighs and palms facing inward. Curl while turning the palms forward, keeping the upper arms still. Pause near the top, then lower slowly and rotate back toward the neutral starting grip.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
