Single-Leg Leg Extension
The Single-Leg Leg Extension isolates knee extension one side at a time. The quadriceps straighten the knee while the machine supports the thigh and torso.
Training context
Muscles Worked by Single-Leg Extensions
The quadriceps are the primary movers, with each side working independently. This makes differences in strength, range, or control easier to observe.
Align the machine pivot with the knee and place the pad above the ankle. Use a range based on comfort rather than forcing a universal lockout or bottom position.
Technique overview
Extend and return without lifting the thigh
Sit firmly with the working shin behind the pad and the other leg safely out of the mechanism. Straighten the knee through a comfortable range, pause briefly, and lower slowly while keeping the thigh against the seat.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
