Single-Leg Stride Jump
The Single-Leg Stride Jump uses one foot on a box to produce an explosive vertical jump while the opposite knee drives upward. The quadriceps, calves, hamstrings, abductors, and adductors contribute to takeoff and landing.
Training context
Who May Find Stride Jumps Useful?
This drill is intended for users who already control step-ups, split-stance jumps, and single-leg landings. The box increases the demand on the elevated leg and requires precise foot placement.
Use a low platform and small jump first. Height should not increase when the working foot shifts or the landing collapses.
Technique overview
Return to the same elevated-foot position
Stand beside the box with the inside foot fully supported. Drive through that leg, swing the arms, and raise the opposite knee as the body jumps upward. Land with the same foot secure on the box and absorb the force before repeating.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
