Sled Overhead Triceps Extension
The Sled Overhead Triceps Extension uses ropes or chains attached to a sled as resistance for elbow extension. The triceps straighten the arms while the stance and shoulders stabilize the overhead position.
Training context
Who May Find This Sled Extension Useful?
The variation may suit strongman or sled-focused training when a cable station is unavailable. Resistance changes according to surface friction and whether the sled begins moving.
Use a light load and secure connections. Sudden slack can create a jerking force through the elbows and shoulders.
Technique overview
Maintain tension without jerking the sled
Face away from the sled in a stable staggered stance and bring the handles overhead. Keep the upper arms generally fixed as the elbows extend. When the sled moves, step forward deliberately to restore manageable tension before beginning the next repetition.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
