Sled Push exercise guide

Exercise guide

Sled Push

The Sled Push drives a loaded implement forward through repeated leg extension. The quadriceps, glutes, hamstrings, and calves move the sled while the chest and triceps stabilize the handles.

Training context

Before Adding Sled Pushes

Sled resistance changes with the surface, sled design, and loading position. Record the equipment, distance, and surface when comparing sessions.

The route should be clear and provide enough room to stop. A heavy push and a fast sprint-style push are distinct variations.

Technique overview

Drive the ground away with each step

Grip the handles and lean into the sled with the arms stable. Use short, powerful steps while extending the hips and knees. Maintain a repeatable torso angle and slow down under control at the end of the route.

Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
