Speed Band Overhead Triceps
The Speed Band Overhead Triceps Extension trains rapid elbow extension against increasing band resistance. The triceps straighten the arms while the shoulders stabilize the overhead position.
Training context
Why Use a Speed Band Extension?
Bands allow the lifter to accelerate through the early range while resistance increases toward full elbow extension. The movement can be useful for high-repetition triceps work or speed-focused accessory training.
Inspect the band and secure the anchor before every set. The band should never be looped around an object that can move or cut into it.
Technique overview
Move quickly without losing the elbow position
Stand in a stable stance with the band anchored behind and below the body. Hold the hands behind the head with the elbows pointed generally upward. Extend the elbows quickly, pause under control, and return without allowing the band to pull the arms backward suddenly.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
