Speed Box Squat
The Speed Box Squat uses a controlled descent to a box followed by an intentionally fast stand. In this version, bands increase resistance as the bar rises. The quadriceps, glutes, hamstrings, and calves contribute.

Who May Find Speed Box Squats Useful?
This is a powerlifting variation for lifters who already squat and box squat consistently. It can be used to practice force production while keeping the bar load below maximal levels.
Percentages are only a starting reference because box height, band tension, bar weight, and athlete experience all change the true difficulty. Band tension should be measured or recorded when possible.
Technique overview
Sit under control and stand with fast intent
Anchor both bands evenly and confirm that the box cannot move. Unrack into a repeatable stance, sit back to the box without dropping onto it, and pause while maintaining tension. Drive through the floor to stand quickly, then reset fully before the next repetition.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
