Stair Climber
The Stair Climber provides continuous lower-body cardio by repeating resisted stepping motions. The quadriceps perform much of the work, while the glutes, hamstrings, and calves assist each step.
Training context
Setup Cues for the Stair Climber
Begin at a pace that allows you to place the feet securely and learn the machine's rhythm. Use the rails lightly for balance rather than supporting a large portion of your body weight.
Record duration, pace, resistance, and machine type when comparing workouts. Those details can change the difficulty considerably.
Technique overview
Build the climbing pace gradually
Step onto the machine securely and begin at a manageable setting. Maintain an upright torso, place each foot firmly, and drive the step without leaning heavily into the handles. Reduce the pace before coordination or foot placement begins to deteriorate.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
