Standing Concentration Curl
The Standing Concentration Curl is performed from a forward-leaning position with the working arm hanging beneath the shoulder. The biceps curl the dumbbell while the forearms support the grip.
Training context
Why Use a Standing Concentration Curl?
The hanging arm position can help make torso swinging easier to notice. Unlike a seated concentration curl, the upper arm is not necessarily braced against the thigh in the supplied setup.
Use a stable hip hinge and a manageable load. Supporting the nonworking hand on a bench or thigh can improve balance.
Technique overview
Keep the elbow beneath the shoulder
Lean forward with the working arm hanging toward the floor. Curl the dumbbell while keeping the upper arm in place, pause near the top, and lower slowly to full controlled extension. Avoid rotating or lifting the torso to complete the repetition.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
