Exercise guide
Stride Jump Crossover
The Stride Jump Crossover is a lateral plyometric drill performed with one foot starting on a box. The quadriceps drive the upward effort, while the abductors, adductors, calves, and hamstrings help control the crossover and landing.
Training context
Muscles Worked by the Stride Jump Crossover
The leg on the box provides the main push while the opposite knee drives upward. During the crossover, both legs must coordinate to exchange positions and absorb the landing on the other side.
The box height should allow quick but controlled contact. Record the box height and repetitions, and stop when the feet no longer reach their intended positions or the landing becomes heavy and unstable.
Technique overview
Land in position for the next jump
Stand beside a stable box with the inside foot planted near the edge. Push through that leg and use the arms to help drive upward and across. Exchange foot positions so the opposite foot lands on the box and the original foot reaches the floor. Absorb the landing before immediately reversing only if balance and foot placement remain controlled.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
