Exercise guide
Tricep Side Stretch
The Tricep Side Stretch brings one arm across the upper body while the opposite hand provides light assistance. The triceps are the primary area listed, with the shoulders also affected by the arm position.
Training context
Keeping the Tricep Side Stretch Controlled
The arm should move into position gradually without the elbow being pulled forcefully across the body. Shoulder comfort determines the useful range.
Hold only mild tension and keep the neck and torso relaxed. Compare both sides without forcing them to reach an identical position.
Technique overview
Use gentle pressure at the elbow
Bring one arm across the body toward the opposite shoulder and support it near the elbow with the other hand. Apply light pressure until a comfortable stretch is felt through the back of the arm and shoulder. Keep the shoulder down and avoid twisting the torso. Release gradually before switching sides.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
