Triceps Pushdown - Rope Attachment
The Triceps Pushdown with Rope Attachment uses a neutral hand position and allows the rope ends to separate near full elbow extension. The triceps provide the entire primary movement.
Training context
Using the Rope Triceps Pushdown in a Workout
The rope can provide a comfortable wrist position and lets each arm move independently. Separating the rope should occur only as the elbows extend, not by pulling the shoulders backward or spreading the arms away from the torso.
Record the rope attachment and cable station used, since rope length and pulley design can change the available range.
Technique overview
Extend the elbows before separating the rope
Hold the rope with a neutral grip and keep the upper arms beside the torso. Press the rope downward by straightening the elbows, then allow the ends to move slightly apart near the thighs. Pause without shrugging or leaning, and guide the rope upward under control. Keep the elbows from drifting forward during the return.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
