V-Bar Pulldown
The V-Bar Pulldown uses a close neutral-grip attachment on a high cable. The lats provide the primary pulling effort, while the biceps, middle back, and shoulders assist as the handle travels toward the chest.
Training context
Who May Find the V-Bar Pulldown Useful
The neutral grip may feel comfortable for lifters who prefer the palms facing each other during vertical pulls. The close attachment also allows the elbows to travel near the torso.
Adjust the thigh pad and choose a torso angle that can remain consistent. Track the attachment, load, and range when comparing sessions.
Technique overview
Pull the elbows toward the sides
Sit securely beneath the thigh pad and begin with the arms extended overhead. Pull the V-bar toward the upper chest by driving the elbows down beside the torso. Keep the chest lifted without leaning farther back during the repetition. Guide the handle upward under control until the lats are lengthened again.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
