B-Stance Romanian Deadlift
The B-Stance Romanian Deadlift is a barbell strength exercise that places most of the load on one working leg while the opposite foot stays slightly behind for balance.
Training context
B-Stance Romanian Deadlift Explained
The B-Stance Romanian Deadlift uses a staggered stance, with most of your weight supported by the working leg and the other foot positioned behind you to assist with balance. The movement targets the hamstrings and glutes, with the lower back also involved.
During each repetition, the hips move backward while the working knee stays slightly bent and the spine remains neutral. The weight stays close to the legs before you extend the hips to return to the starting position.
Technique overview
Keep the Weight Close as You Hinge
Brace your core, maintain a soft bend in the working knee, and send your hips backward while keeping your back neutral. Keep the barbell close to your legs as you lower, then press through the working foot and extend the hips to stand.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
