Bent Over Two-Dumbbell Row
The Bent Over Two-Dumbbell Row trains the middle back and lats while both arms pull at the same time. The biceps and shoulders assist, and the lower body maintains the forward-leaning position. Dumbbells allow each hand to follow its own path rather than being connected by one bar.
Training context
Keeping the Two-Dumbbell Row controlled
The torso should remain close to the same angle as the dumbbells rise and lower. If the body repeatedly lifts to create momentum, the exercise begins to resemble a different row variation.
A neutral grip generally keeps the elbows near the sides. The dumbbells may travel toward the hips, waist, or lower ribs depending on the chosen angle.
Technique overview
Row both dumbbells without rocking
Hinge at the hips with your knees slightly bent and let both dumbbells hang beneath the shoulders. Pull the elbows backward and bring the weights toward your sides. Pause briefly, then lower until the arms are extended. Keep your torso still and avoid using a repeated upward body swing.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
