Exercise guide
Cable Crossover
The Cable Crossover is a standing chest exercise performed between two high pulleys. The arms move from an open position toward each other in front of the body. The chest performs the main movement while the shoulders assist and the torso maintains balance.
Training context
Why use the Cable Crossover?
Cables maintain tension as the hands move inward and across the body. Pulley height and the finishing hand position can change the angle of the exercise.
The crossover often fits after pressing movements as focused chest work. Select a resistance that does not pull the torso backward or turn the motion into a press.
Technique overview
Keep the elbow angle steady
Set both pulleys to equal heights and step forward into a balanced stance. Open the arms through a comfortable range with a slight bend in the elbows, then bring the handles together along the same arc. Keep the torso still and avoid bending and straightening the elbows to move the weight.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
