Chair Leg Extended Stretch
The Chair Leg Extended Stretch is a seated mobility movement for the hamstrings and inner thighs. One leg straightens in front of the body and then moves outward before returning to the center. The chair provides support while each side works independently.
Training context
Setup cues for the Chair Leg Extended Stretch
Use a stable chair that will not slide or tip when the seat is gripped. Sit tall enough that the working leg can move without striking nearby furniture.
This is a controlled dynamic movement rather than a forceful static stretch. The knee and ankle should move only through a comfortable range.
Technique overview
Keep the torso upright as the leg moves
Hold the sides of the chair and slowly straighten one knee while flexing the ankle. Move the extended leg outward without leaning the torso in the opposite direction. Return to the center and lower the foot under control. Repeat with the other leg using the same range.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
