Exercise guide
Forward Drag with Press
The Forward Drag with Press combines a sled drag with repeated chest presses. The athlete faces away from the sled, steps forward against its resistance, and presses both handles ahead from a stable stance. The lower body moves the sled while the chest, shoulders, and triceps perform the press.
Training context
What Is the Forward Drag with Press?
Each repetition combines two tasks: taking a controlled step against the sled and extending the arms forward. The press should begin only after the feet have established a stable position.
Attachment length and sled load affect both parts of the exercise. Too much resistance can make the athlete stumble forward or turn the press into a full-body shove.
Technique overview
Establish the stance before each press
Face away from the sled with one handle in each hand and tension in the attachment. Step forward by driving through the hips and legs, regain balance, and press both hands ahead. Return the handles under control before taking the next step. Keep the route clear and stop when the steps or presses become uneven.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
