Front Leg Raises
Front Leg Raises are a dynamic mobility drill performed while holding a stable support. One straight leg swings forward and backward while the standing leg and torso remain controlled. The forward swing moves the hamstrings through a gradually increasing range.
Training context
Keeping Front Leg Raises Controlled
The movement should begin with a modest range and grow only as the hip loosens. The leg does not need to reach waist or chest height to be effective.
Holding a chair, wall, or rack helps prevent the torso from leaning away from the moving leg. The support must be stable enough to accept light pressure.
Technique overview
Swing from the hip without twisting
Stand tall beside the support and keep the standing foot planted. Swing the opposite leg forward with the knee comfortably straight, then let it travel backward without arching the lower back. Maintain a smooth rhythm for several repetitions before switching sides.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
