Exercise guide
Front Raise And Pullover
The Front Raise and Pullover moves a barbell through a large arc from the thighs toward the space behind or above the head. The chest is listed as primary, with the lats, shoulders, and triceps assisting. The movement combines features of a straight-arm front raise and pullover.
Training context
What Is the Front Raise and Pullover?
The exercise uses a much larger shoulder range than a normal front raise. That makes shoulder mobility and control more important than the amount of weight used.
Beginning with the bar on the thighs while lying on a bench can be awkward. Assistance may be needed to enter and leave the starting position safely.
Technique overview
Use a light bar through a comfortable arc
Lie securely and hold the bar with a slight, fixed elbow bend. Move it slowly through the semicircular path without forcing the shoulders into the end range. Stop before the ribs lift, the lower back arches, or the shoulders feel strained. Reverse the same arc under control.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
