Exercise guide
High Cable Crossover
The High Cable Crossover begins with both pulleys above shoulder height. The arms travel downward and inward until the hands meet in front of the lower chest or upper abdomen. The chest provides the main effort while the shoulders and triceps assist with positioning and control.
Training context
Using High Cable Crossovers in a Workout
This exercise commonly follows larger presses as focused chest work. The cable path maintains tension as the hands move together and allows each arm to work independently.
Pulley height, stance, and body angle should remain consistent throughout the set. Excessive weight often causes the torso to fold forward or the elbows to bend into a press.
Technique overview
Bring the handles down and inward
Step forward into a stable split stance with a small bend in the elbows. Draw both handles along a downward arc until they meet in front of the lower chest. Pause without rounding the shoulders, then return slowly until the chest reaches a comfortable stretch. Keep the elbow angle nearly unchanged.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
