Exercise guide
Incline Cable Chest Press
The Incline Cable Chest Press is a seated pressing exercise that directs the handles forward from an elevated arm angle. The chest provides the main effort while the shoulders and triceps assist. Independent cable handles allow the hands to move slightly together during the press.
Training context
Who May Find the Incline Cable Press Useful?
The exercise may suit lifters who prefer a machine-supported position or want steady cable tension throughout the press. It can be used as a main chest movement or as controlled accessory work after free-weight pressing.
Seat and handle positions should place the upper arms around 45 degrees from the torso. Adjust the machine if the shoulders are pulled excessively backward at the start.
Technique overview
Press forward without losing the shoulder position
Sit securely with the head and chest supported and elbows bent. Press the handles forward and slightly together while keeping the shoulders settled against the support. Pause before locking the elbows aggressively, then return slowly until the chest reaches a comfortable stretch.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
