Isometric Chest Squeezes
Isometric Chest Squeezes create chest tension by pressing the palms together without moving the arms through a repetition. The chest provides the main effort while the shoulders and triceps help maintain the arm position. Despite its source category, this is an isometric strength drill rather than a plyometric exercise.
Training context
What Are Isometric Chest Squeezes?
The exercise allows the athlete to create resistance using one hand against the other. The intensity can be adjusted immediately by changing how firmly the palms press together.
The hold should build gradually. Maximum pressure is unnecessary, especially when first learning the position or using it during a warm-up.
Technique overview
Build and release the tension gradually
Sit or stand tall with the palms together in front of the chest and elbows comfortably bent. Increase pressure between the hands over several seconds while breathing normally. Maintain an even effort without raising the shoulders, then reduce the pressure gradually before resting.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
