Exercise guide

Leverage Decline Chest Press

The Leverage Decline Chest Press uses a machine path angled slightly downward from the shoulders. The chest supplies the main pressing force while the triceps and shoulders assist.

Training context

Using the Leverage Decline Chest Press

Adjust the seat so the handles begin near the lower chest and the shoulders remain comfortable against the backrest. The machine angle may shift more emphasis toward the lower portion of the chest, although the entire chest still contributes.

Use the machine's intended path instead of forcing the elbows into an artificial position. Both sides should move evenly.

Technique overview

Keep the shoulders supported during the press

Sit with the chest up and shoulder blades supported. Press the handles forward along the machine's path until the arms reach a controlled extension. Return slowly until the handles approach the starting position without allowing the plates to rest between repetitions.

Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
