Lying Cambered Barbell Row
The Lying Cambered Barbell Row is a chest-supported row performed with a bar shaped to provide extra clearance beneath the bench. The middle back, lats, traps, and biceps pull the bar toward the torso.
Training context
Before Adding the Cambered Barbell Row
The bench must be high enough for the bar and plates to move freely without contacting the floor or frame. The bar should also be centered beneath the athlete before lying down.
Pulling toward the chest generally creates a higher elbow path, while pulling toward the abdomen may keep the elbows closer and involve the lats more strongly.
Technique overview
Keep the chest supported during the row
Lie face down with the chest and hips supported and grip the cambered bar evenly. Pull the bar toward the selected point on the torso while moving the elbows back. Pause without lifting from the bench, then lower until the arms extend under control.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
