Exercise guide
Moving Claw Series
The Moving Claw Series is a running-mechanics drill that combines heel recovery, forward leg cycling, active ground contact, and rapid arm action. The hamstrings, quadriceps, and calves contribute to the repeated sprint pattern.
Training context
Keeping the Moving Claw Drill Organized
The drill name is not standardized, so the supplied instructions are the clearest guide to its intent. It should resemble controlled sprint mechanics rather than exaggerated kicking behind the body.
Practice at a moderate speed before attempting maximum turnover. Use an open lane and stop when posture or foot placement becomes inconsistent.
Technique overview
Cycle the leg forward before attacking the ground
Run forward while allowing the heel to recover beneath the body as the knee bends. Bring the thigh forward, then drive the foot down beneath the hips rather than reaching far ahead. Coordinate the arms in a quick opposite-arm, opposite-leg rhythm.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
