Exercise guide
One Arm Chin-Up
Despite its name, the supplied exercise is a towel-assisted one-arm chin-up. One hand grips the bar while the other holds a towel, allowing the athlete to change how much help the assisting arm provides.
Training context
Using the Assisted One-Arm Chin-Up
Holding the towel lower generally makes the assisting arm less effective and increases the demand on the bar-side arm. The towel and bar must both be secure before loading the position.
This is an advanced unilateral pulling progression. Strong controlled chin-ups should be established first, and both sides should receive comparable practice.
Technique overview
Use the towel only for the assistance you need
Grip the bar with one palm facing you and hold the towel with the other hand. Pull the chest upward while emphasizing the bar-side arm and using the towel only as needed. Lower slowly to a controlled hang, then switch the bar and towel hands.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
