Prowler Sprint
The Prowler Sprint is a resisted conditioning drill performed by driving a sled over a short distance. The legs and hips produce repeated force while the chest and shoulders maintain pressure through the handles.
Training context
Who May Find Prowler Sprints Useful?
Prowler sprints may suit athletes who want short, high-effort conditioning without the impact of unrestricted sprinting. Resistance can be adjusted for speed, power, or general conditioning.
A sprint load should not be so heavy that each step becomes a slow grind. Heavier sled pushes are useful, but they represent a different training goal.
Technique overview
Use short steps and continuous forward pressure
Set the sled on a suitable surface and choose a load that still permits quick movement. Lean into the handles with the arms firm, then drive through alternating short steps. Keep the feet moving beneath the body and slow down before reaching the end of the available lane.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
