Rack Pull with Bands
The Rack Pull with Bands combines a partial-range deadlift with accommodating resistance. Band tension increases as the bar rises, making the upper portion of the lift progressively heavier.
Training context
Why Use Bands With Rack Pulls?
Bands can emphasize force production near lockout while the rack pins establish the starting height. Pin height, band strength, bar weight, and anchor distance all affect the resistance profile.
Use properly rated band pegs or secure rack anchors. Loose dumbbells can move, tip, or become projectiles and should not be treated as reliable anchors.
Technique overview
Secure the bands before approaching the bar
Set both pins and band anchors to equal heights and confirm that the bands track vertically. Take a deadlift-style position, brace, and extend through the hips and knees until standing. Avoid leaning backward at lockout, then return the bar evenly to the pins and allow it to settle before repeating.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
