Exercise guide
Single-Arm Push-Up
The Single-Arm Push-Up is an advanced unilateral pressing exercise. The chest, shoulder, and triceps of the working side press the body while the trunk resists rotation.
Training context
Before Adding Single-Arm Push-Ups
Strong standard push-ups, uneven push-ups, and elevated one-arm progressions should be established first. The exercise requires much more anti-rotation control than a regular push-up.
The feet may be placed wide to create a larger base. Touching the floor is not required when that depth causes the torso to twist or the shoulder to lose position.
Technique overview
Keep the torso facing the floor
Set the working hand beneath or slightly outside the shoulder and spread the feet for balance. Lower by bending the working elbow while resisting rotation through the hips and chest. Press back to the top through the same controlled path.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
