Standing Leg Curl

The Standing Leg Curl trains the hamstrings one leg at a time by bending the knee against machine resistance. The pads and handles support the body while the lower leg moves.

Training context

Benefits of the Standing Leg Curl

The unilateral setup allows each hamstring to be trained independently and can make side-to-side differences easier to identify. The machine also removes most balance demands.

Align the machine pivot with the knee and place the roller above the ankle. The upper leg should remain supported throughout the curl.

Technique overview

Keep the thigh against the support

Adjust the pads, secure the torso, and begin with the working leg extended. Bend the knee to draw the roller upward without lifting the thigh or changing the torso angle. Pause briefly and lower the resistance under control before switching sides.

Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
