Exercise guide
Standing Toe Touches
Standing Toe Touches use a forward fold to stretch the hamstrings and calves. Touching the toes is not required, and the hands can hang naturally at any comfortable height.
Training context
Setup Cues for Standing Toe Touches
Keep enough space to enter and leave the position without losing balance. A slight knee bend is acceptable when straight legs create excessive tension.
The goal is a manageable stretch, not reaching the floor. Rise slowly, especially after holding the head below the torso.
Technique overview
Fold gradually and return slowly
Stand with the feet planted and begin folding forward from the hips. Allow the upper body and arms to hang without bouncing or pulling toward the toes. Hold a comfortable range, then bend the knees slightly and return to standing under control.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
