Suspended Push-Up
The Suspended Push-Up is a push-up variation performed with the hands supported by suspension handles. The chest provides the primary pressing effort, while the shoulders and triceps stabilize and extend the arms.
Training context
Keeping the Suspended Push-Up Controlled
Because the handles can move independently, the exercise demands more stability than a floor push-up. Body angle and strap height determine how much bodyweight is placed through the arms.
Choose an angle that allows the handles to remain controlled without shaking apart or collapsing inward. End the set when the torso sags, the shoulders lose position, or the handles can no longer follow a consistent path.
Technique overview
Keep the handles under control throughout the press
Secure the straps and establish a straight body line from the head through the heels. Bend the elbows and lower the chest between the handles without allowing them to drift unpredictably. Pause at a controlled depth, then press back to the starting position. Stand more upright to reduce the difficulty when needed.
Treat this as an overview and use a range, pace, and setup you can control.
